Milford Sound

Driving though the Homer tunnel was interesting a 1 lane no lights experience but the view at the end was just like a Shangrila moment, form the rains and dull entrance to sunshine and beautiful views. I stopped to take a few pictures of the view and a spot called the Chasm.

After parking the car is was onto the Milford Wanderer to get comfy and enjoy the next 18hrs sailing the sound. I cannot express the words to describe the awesomeness of the fiord and even though the falls were not a plentiful as the lack of rain in the area is noticeable. Still wondrous vies though.

A side trip off the Wanderer was the chance to walk on the Milford Track and our guide gave us some information on the flora and fauna.

The next day on the way back to Te Anau to stay the night I captured the beautiful Mirror lakes but due to the breeze it was difficult to get the true effect.
